What causes cavities or dental decay?
One of the most common dental problems is cavities, or tooth decay. Here are a few things that you could avoid decay of your teeth:
- Foods and drinks that cling to your teeth
- If you are snacking frequently during the day, you are more likely to get cavities because the acid sitting on your teeth has more time to cause damage.
- Some are concerned about public tap water. Public tap water, however, contains fluoride and protects tooth enamel from plaque build-up.
- Plaque can form near you roots when your gums are receding. These parts of the teeth do not have enamel and are a lot more prone to tooth decay.
