What is plaque and how can you prevent it?
Plaque is a sticky and colorless film of bacteria that constantly forms on your teeth. It is the main cause of cavities and gum disease. Plaque can harden and become tartar if it isn’t taken care of and removed daily. It is very easy to prevent plaque build-up. Here are some tips to help remove:
- Brush your teeth twice a day to remove plaque from all the surfaces of your teeth.
- Floss daily to remove plaque from between the teeth and under the gum line.
- Limit sugary, starchy and sticky snacks.
- Maintain regular dental visits for cleanings and exams.
