Teeth Grinding // Gilbert, AZ

What does tooth grinding mean?

Excessive grinding or clenching of the teeth can simply be defined as Bruxism. A considerable force comes from grinding your teeth. This causes a lot of wear and damage because the teeth were designed to chew and tear up food. These excessive forces destroy teeth over time.

Strain on the body may result in teeth grinding, for example, dehydration or nutrient deficiencies. Stress and anxiety could be the involvement of psychological factors in teeth grinding.

Unfortunately, worn tooth structure from grinding cannot be regenerated. However, grinding can be reduced and even prevented. In any case of tooth grinding, a consultation at the dentist is very important. A night guard may be recommended to fix the problem and will help keep keep your beautiful teeth healthy.
