Tooth sensitivity is a dental problem that people tend to experience a lot. If you are experiencing sharp pains when you eat or during hot or cold foods it is likely that you may have a cavity. However, it may also be a sign that you may just have sensitive teeth, either from receding gums or from a thinning of your tooth enamel. While you are waiting for a dental appointment to see if you have sensitive teeth or a cavity, be sure you are using a soft-bristled toothbrush and toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth. Doing these things may help your symptoms a little bit for the time being.
